COVID-19 UPDATE- Starting Monday, May 25, 2020, the Supreme Court will be allowing new, non-essential matters to be filed via e-filing. This means new divorces can now be calendared and processed. As there is expected to be an overwhelming amount of new cases filed, it is recommended that you file as soon as possible for your case to be heard as expeditiously as possible.
While Family Courts are still only hearing emergency/essential applications, Family Courts on Long Island are allowing Support Petitions to be mailed in to preserve the filing date for retroactive awards.
